Sometimes I only want to check in on the forums, to see who is online, or to get some information from a thread. I don't want the hassle of having all unread threads marked as read, because it makes life harder for me when I return later on, and am in the mood to actually reply to threads.
I guess it could seem suspicious, but then I could just make myself Invisible if I didn't want people knowing I was online
