Weird Affectionate Names
Have you ever been called or used an affectionate name that would just sound weird to someone who doesn't understand where it comes from?
Example: My sister used to have the nickname Belch. I think the logical progression was:
Carmella->Carmella-Bella->Bella->Belchick*->Belch
*"-chick" is an affectionate diminutive in Yiddish.
