I know, but the game hasn't even been released. They can still give a score, but it would be a score based on what they've seen previewed. Previews are made for when the game hasn't been released, while reviews are done when the game has been released, and the entire game has been played.

Well you know when a game has gone "gold" and is making copies to be released to stores? Well game publishers give out copies of the game before it hits shelves to game critics to get reviews early on. Plus its a good way to know about the game before buying.
