For all of elementary school and about half of middle school, I just knew I wanted to be a scientist. It didn't matter what kind. I loved every form of science I had ever come across. Then I started thinking "marine biologist" after watching the Discovery Channel for a while and seeing the kind of work they do.

Now I'm not sure at all. I might like to be a cartoon voice actor, or a marine biologist, or, having just reread about half of The River Why, I might like to learn how to fish and hunt and whatnot and just live as a sort of woodsman. My problem comes from the fact that when I was at the age where people expect one to be interested only in sports and cars, explosions, running around outside, quote-unquote "cool things"-- all the things that make a healthy childhood, basically-- I was interested in books, pure science, and other such nonsense. Now I pay for it by having no hobbies, no true interests or passions other than the written word. I don't know what I'm going to do with my life and this depresses me to the point where I consider just dropping out of school and finding some wilderness to live in.
