I'm glad you at least know the difference between a rhetorical question and a hypothetical question.

You're absolutely right, some people make forums that aren't successful. Some people are better at predicting the success of a forum than others. There are however, some basic rules to follow when creating a forum, if you want it to have any amount of success.

I've outlined them in my first post Abeguy, I suggest you take a more serious look at it. I used to run a very successful forum a while ago, and I know what it takes to make a good one. If you want the same success, then I suggest that you take my advice.

The single most important piece of advice when creating a forum, is that it needs to be the FIRST and ONLY forum of it's type. But most importantly, the first. This is not only so that you get all the newcomers and establish yourself before all the others do, but also so that you can build up the reputation of being the definitive forum for the topic or subject, AND so that you can get the best possible website domain name before anyone else takes it.
