Considering Oddworld's track record with review scores, and the fact that this game now caters for the broad range of trigger-happy gamers (and there are SO many of them), we can expect this game to be received by more people, and subsequently, better review scores.
Perhaps this was the plan all along. Afterall, Oddworld Inhabitants' goal is to have Oddworld in every living room in the world. By changing genre, they've allowed a whole different set of people to access their games, and along with that, all the previous Oddworld fans they've collected from past games. Sounds like the perfect plan to me
