The Spawn series were originally a comic book series. But eventually a movie was made. Cartoon, true, but a good one.
Spawn is the returned form from some dude who died, and still had to do some... Stuff. Oh yeah, he had to go to Hel, that's why he doesn't look like an angel... He's some kind of superhero.
