I'm thinking of opening up the softcover one as that is the least expensive of all of them.

I would suggest opening the hard cover - in my experience, floppybacks end up having their covers warped and their spine creased. Fine if you only want it as a reading copy, but I imagine you'd want to keep them all in the best quality possible.

Maybe some smaller stores might put in their own orders through the Ballistic site ... like we have a specialist bookstore in Melbourne here that does a lot of art books. That would probably be the only hope non-credit card people would have.

That would be great, but then the price of the book would increase, as the book shop itself would want some profit.
