A Wacom tablet, I believe, is a tool artists can use to draw directly into computer art programs rather than having to control a mouse. I think it's basically a pen (stylus?) and mat (tablet), and it picks up what you 'draw' on the tablet with the pen. Useful for PhotoShop, for instance.
