I think the best argument against time travel (along with going to Abe's Moon and laser weapons) is that Oddworld is not sci-fi, it's fantasy i.e. it's firmly cemented in its own universe, whereas sci-fi tends to involve the future of humanity (a big exception there is obviously Star Wars, but that definitely uses sci-fi concepts. Oh, and lasers.
