Domesticated Rabbits are stupid creatures anyway. Even the wild ones are pretty stupid.
I'll admit I've shot wild rabbits before with my rifles. I've also shot mice, rats, and various other vermin. Including pigeons.
They all carry foul diseases, bacteria, and are a menace to the urban and rural environments. So shooting them isn't really all that bad, because if people didn't, then we would be quite simply overrun.
Although it has a fairly different motive, SligSlinger killing that domesticated rabbit is not huge amounts more horrific than me killing a wild vermin rabbit. Essentially, the rabbit is making a nuisance of itself on property that the pets' owners have a responsibility to keep it from entering. If the owners neglect that responsibility and the rabbit continues to cause problems then either capturing it and handing it in to the animal rescue, or terminating it on site would be a justified course of action.
Legally, SS has the right to terminate a pest such as an escaped pet if the owners refuse to take responsibility for ensuring it stays where it's wanted. Especially if the owners wish it to be a pest.
