You should be able to pick up an Ibanez S series for about $500 to $600. Second hand they go for about $250 to $300.
The best way to get one is to order online, if you already know you like the way the guitar is set up. (most S series models are identical) If you order online you can avoid a lot of costs, and essentially skip the shopkeeper and his extortionate profiteering.
Personally I'd never buy a standard S series for over $600. They are nice guitars, yes, but they aren't
that nice. However if it's a custom job, then it will most likely go way higher.
