Unfortunately I am overweight. I used to complain about my weight, but now I just live with it. I've tried diet, excercise [although I could do with more, finding time is a problem for me] and nothing works. I've come to the conclusion that some people are naturally underweight and others are naturally overweight. I look at my family history and on my dad's side the family is more on the skinny side, but on my mum's side my family is on the overweight side. Out of the three siblings, two of us took after my mum, one of us took after my dad. We all ate the same food growing up, all had around the same amount of excersice, etc. Until I hit puberty I used to be really skinny also. So the only thing I can put it down to is hereditary.

Too skinny are the kids in Africa who die of malnutrition. Too fat are the Americans you see on TV who weigh 300 pounds or more and for whom it's an ordeal to move around and who die of heart disease in their middle years. I am, in general, against complaining about minor inconveniences when there are people with problems that are life-threatening.

You have a valid point there Raisin. But the thing is, try saying that to the little shit who calls you fat when you are down the street or the teen who thinks if a girl doesn't have a hot body, she's fat. Same with those who are under-weight. They get called anorexic or get told they need to eat something once in a while. If everyone understood like you do, then people wouldn't have complexity problems about their weight. To many a "fat" person is someone who is like 300 pounds and lives on burgers and fries all the time. But other people think that if you are just a little bit overweight then you are "fat". I had that very problem on this very forum one time, when a past member [banned now] got in my face and insulted me after myself and Pilot posted pictures during the OddTour a few years ago. It's for that very reason that I don't like posting pictures of myself online anymore. Even though I know most people aren't like that [I've received more compliments that negatives, but it's the negatives that stick out to you], it's hard when you think the internet is a place where you think you are accepted and can get away from all of that crap, but then it comes back at you.
