(Note: This fanfic has nothing to do with the RPG, it's just that Dark Hood lives there.)
Dark Hood is finishing breakfast in his shack in the village of Pyke. After eating some Shreddies he bought with him from earth, he decides to finish off with some Oddworldian berries that he really likes. As he opens the lid to the box he put them in, he notices they are going off.
"Huh? I picked these fresh yesterday evening! Hmmm, must be the box a put them in. . . Unless I overslept or something. . ."
He looks at his watch.
"Nope. Whats more, something smells rotten around here, and it isn't just these berries. I'd better go find out whats going on."
He gets up, cleans the bowl (using powers), and puts it in his pocket. He grabs his stick off the wall, and also shoves it into his magic pocket. As he walks outside, he closes the door behind him, and his shack comes CRASHing down. Dark Hood whirls around.
"Aw, nuts!"
A quick look around his surroundings indicates that something is not right.
"What the hell? Everything appears to be dying. . . whats more. . ."
He kneels down and examines the remins of his shack and picks up a bit of wood.
"Hey, what gives? All the joints in my shack appear to be rotten! Jeeze, something isn't right at all."
He stands up, looking very worried.
"Oh man, this is not good. This is not good at all!"
Just then, he sees a green beam of light heading toward the sky.
"Huh? What the hell was that? I'd better go and investigate."
He searches through the remains of his shack to gather a few belongings, and shoves them into his magic pocket. He then runs through Pyke, and heads for the direction of the beam.
