Lumley and Lovecraft on the other hand are two of the premier horror writers aorund and their vamps are steeped in authentic vampire lore and just diabolical, corrupting badassery. For someone to be into horror, Clairebear(assuming you are because of Rice) and not to know of Lovecraft is more than a bit surprising. It's like a sci fi afficianado going "Heinlein who?"

I'm not a "horror afficianado"... I used to read alot of horror when I was about 14... Rice, King, Herbert but in the past decade not a great deal.
I'm always intregued by those who promote an author as veremently as you so I'd like to try what you've recommended... I'm not into sci-fi so if you could post the names of the Lumley and Lovecraft novels I'd really appreciate it.. I hate searching through Amazon blind!
