Here is the first chap. *grin*
Chapter 1
She groaned as she woke up, head hurting somewhat. She opened her eyes and looked around confused. She had no idea where she was or who she was. She noticed a large body of water next to her and looked at her reflection in it. Then she realized that she had no idea what she was either.
Staring back at her in her reflection was a creature with silver eyes, light green skin with darker green stripes, small head with three facial tentacles on a long neck, fairly broad shoulders, and a torso that tapered off into a 4 foot long tail. A row of spines ran from the base of her neck to the tip of her tail and her weight was being supported by two strong arms. Her hands each had three fingers and a thumb; each tipped with a hook-like claw.
She stared at herself a moment longer, not sure what to make of herself. Then she turned from the water and attempted to walk, only to stumble and fall flat on her face. She squawked in surprise and got up to try again. After a few more moments (and a couple more stumbles), she managed to get the hang of walking.
As she walked about she looked around, she was in a grassy plain with a few sparse trees.
She jumped when she heard a shriek-like howl behind her. She turned around and saw another creature, this one had a beak-like mouth with its lower jaw longer then the top, no eyes, red and yellow in color, head resting on a strong neck, and four talon tipped legs.
She backed away from the creature, frightened, her instincts telling her that this creature meant her harm. She tried to run but stumbled and fell. She looked up and saw the creature advancing on her, head low and hissing menacingly. She let out a short frightened cry and covered her head with her hands.
There was another howl, this one from another direction, and the sound of someone or thing running up to her. She crushed her eyes closed, not wanting to see what else was about to attack her.
Who or whatever the owner of the second howl was, ran right by her and, from the sound of it, had started fighting the first creature. After a lot of noise, one fell quiet and there was a dull ‘thud’. She whined as she heard the winner walk up to her.
“Yer ok miss?” a deep gentle voice said to her. She forced herself to open her eyes and look up at the owner of the voice. She jumped up, surprised at what she saw…
