The point of Christianity is to give salvation to mankind. So you can live in heaven after you die and not burn in hell.

From my personal opinion, i cant really be bothered with religion, since spending 1.5 hours in church every sunday is too much. Which is my current situation.
The point of any religion is control!

Also as we are one of the few animals (perhaps saving Elephants, dolphins and some whales) that are aware of our demise... the whole after life, reincarnation theories stop us from running around going "OH MY GOD! THIS IS IT? I WORK AT WALMART/ASDA... EARN S**T! LIVE LIKE S**T THEN I'M WORM FOOD... STOP THE WORLD I WANNA GET OFF!"

The control element ties in wonderfully with this theory... if you don't want to just be "wormfood" and end up in Heaven, Nivarna or reincarneted as something a leetle bit better than a beetle... you have to follow a predetermined set of rules... rules which just happen to be very much alike in all religions... coincidence?.... me thinky not! These rules are intensified by the threat of Hell or Pergatory (Joshy you have to do something seriously wrong according to scripture to go straight to Hell... first stop for most of "us" is Pergatory)

I am not religious in anyway... if you are bully for you, great, kudos! I don't want to change your mind or ridicule you.

Its not your fault that you have overactive electrical brain activity in the frontal cortex similar to that found in alcoholics and shoppaholics which sadly I lack and will never feel the need to "belong" to a large group of similarly minded people and give up half my Sunday to feel better about death and all the bad stuff I've done that week.

I would never persecute others for their beliefs but it just ain't my bag... we're basically animals... you live, you f**k, procreate and then you die... THE END! It doesn't bother me but I can see how it might to some people. I dunno... AND... shock horror! I'm not even Christened... my parents felt it was up to me to make my own choices concerning religion... something you may have appreciated Joshy... but if you weren't forced into it at 4 months old... would you go to church and have strong pro Christianity views? Probably not.
