By draft do you mean conscription?...
Is that the same thing as when up until the 1960's in Britain every male under the age of I think it was 30 or so had to do a stint of about 18months in the army?
I think Germany still has that you know...
Or are we talking about calling all young men up to fight in a current war?

It's a call to arms. All men over a certain age and under a certain age must join the army, or face prosecution. Many people try to leave the country or go into hiding, but they have these people that are a bit like the SS who try to find people evading the draft.
(when I'm evading the draft I close the window or door.)
