Jokes are perfectly acceptable, unless they throw a really good debate off the rails, and place a completely different train on the track.
And posts containing no other content except a "ROFLMAO" or "LOL" are unacceptable. The whole idea of a forum is sharing your views and opinions - it's about content. If you aren't adding content then you shouldn't add at all.
However, I don't see any problems with adding a "ROFLMAO" or "LOL" at the top of a post where you share your opinions and actually add content.
