Since I'm editing I may as well post an opinion on the topic of discussion. The Bush Administration really ****ed up here. (I don't think it's fair to say Bush himself ****ed it up. His whole cabinet played a role.)Not only was this a major moral pitfall, it was a total political disaster. How badly could this hurt Bush in the election? I'm not saying he should be thinking about nothing but getting re-elected, but if he were, wouldn't this be a major problem? Why do it?
