Present day man knows ways to kill, whereas primitive man would just swing around in rage.

Wrong. Present day man is afraid of killing. Someone pisses you off at school. What do you do? Swear and argue(Well most people would). What would caveman do? Rip their head off.
Caveman is not afraid of death, due to disease and wild animals, it's a much bigger part of life than it is today.
