All of that is done in CG. Its done mostly in 3D software such as Myia, Lightwave etc etc, Though I can tell you one thing to create things and enviroments we see in Stranger is probabally a very difficult job to carve out in 3D software. Lots and lots of sufficticated equipment like bump maps, XYZ charts and graghs. I am learning the same stuff in school now. And its extremely difficult because you get a book of all the tools used in these software and the book is thicker than any soft ware book known to man. I mean these books are thicker than the bible. Anyboby breaking into CG work will be overwelmed at all the panels that show up on your screen and mainly they work with three basic 3D shapes to build their envirorments and characters.
