Why would It be a rip off of the OWF? There where forums about oddworld long before this one was set up (although this one was founded not to long after AO) and this one is no "rip off" as you call it.
And to Mudokon, setting up a forum is not a bad Idea in general, but do make sure you offer stuff which make ppl want to come back. Get a nice skin for it, make some interesting catogory's, be interactive with your members and make a lot of advertisement. After you done all that, Waiting is the key. While you keep making advertisement it will take a couple of months before your forum get realy active.
So you dont have to get mad at us for trying to help you, most of us don't want to be a member becouse we like it here, but we will try to help you set it up.
