Guess what? She probably put up with you as long as she could. I applaud her for making it a year, honestly. You're either a good lay, or rich. There is no other viable explanation. As for her promising to never leave you, or hurt you 'in any way, ever'...Well, she's obviously a liar, and you're naive for believing it. Stupid.

I doubt she had a problem with you having your own opinions. However, I suspect you acted like a jealous little boy, and treated her as a possession. If she already promised to never leave you, let her have a friend of the opposite sex. If you really can't trust her around another guy, then it's a good thing you broke up, pussy.
