A few months ago, my brother who was 18 at the time, and still is and therefore is allowed to legally drink drunk way too much, and as Clairebear said, caused the blood to become thin and extremely cold.
He walked home whilst it was almost snowing in jeans and a thin shirt and then almost died from hypothermia (I think it was that.. :s). He most likely would have died had he not been found by one of his friends and driven home in a car, where my mum bathed him in a very hot bath - much to his embarrassment after recovering.

Yes... Up here in the NorthEast it gets ridiculously cold... we're on the same latitude line as Moscow!
Just before Christmas (I think it was) a young man ... not a boy!... of 24 was walking home drunk from a friend's stag night... dressed as young men do for a night out in jeans and a short sleeve shirt! He was only walking from one village to another 2 miles tops but he was very drunk and must have been too tired/confused ie drunk to go any further than half way into his journey...
...he was found dead the next day... curled up under a hedge at the side of the road.. where police said he may have tried to sleep off the booze to continue walking later on.
That is not the only incident I've heard of!
Booze can be bad... very bad!
