I used Nick as a hostage to escape, yeah I know it was a cheap trick, but it was either that or end up wrapped in a carpet and thrown off a bridge. Anyway, Nick left town, out of my story for a while. So about a week later I was chatting with Jack down the local, over a Jack and Coke, and then this goon appears in the door, he's carrying a pair of double barrelled shotguns, he looks around for a second and he spots Jack , He rasied his gun, and I push Jack to the floor. He fired the contents of one shotgun at us, missing by an inch. He then drops the shotgun, and aims his other gun. Before he got a chance to do anything else, I sent a bullet on a visit to the back of his skull, he fell backwards instantly, crashing to the floor.
Jack then turns to me, "Agh Shit" So I tell him to leave town, He gives me the keys to his place. "Stay there, take care of anyone who visits" So I ask him about payment. "Screw it, the apartment's yours, as is everything there. I'll be back in about 2 months, I need you to take out the guys who are after me, and the guys who issued the orders." I nodded. He then grabbed his coat and ran to his car waiting outside.
How I accepted I don't know, but I guess I thought it'd be good to clear up the city.
