Quite agreed.
There's something about A I don't like too much, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
B is nice because of simplicity, yet feels a tad too blockish.
Stranger is entirely strange-looking in C, probably because we don't have many good full-pose pictures of him.

I've figured it out... I know what it is you can't put your finger on...
All the images are way too haphazard. They aren't the sort of image saturated logos you would expect to see on a website. More like a packaging logo or something.
It is trying to be minimal when it wants to be maximal. It lacks vision and inspiration, it's been dressed up to look like a logo, as though acheiving the title of "logo" is something that needs to be worked at.
