I hope they don't just do the Quintology as movies, as games are the best interactive medium around.

Actually, Lorne's original intention was to make Oddworld a motion picture series. However, due to monetary issues (and probably some others I've forgotten), Sherry and him decided to make the games first.
The movie series are still planned. Whether or not they are currently in work, planned for production as the quintology unfolds, or set aside until the quintology has finished, is anyone's guess.
