Part 2

*Setting: The cold wind of the night blew through the small, rickety, two storey house. Whistling gently as the dust and old cobwebs were blown faintly. Flames from scattered candles swayed rythmicly, some going out in a whisp of grey smoke as the wind picked up. Stepping out from the darkness of the shadows, Leonard sneered. Waving his right hand in the direction of the outted candles and thus re-lighting them.*

Leonard: "We're so going to have to get this place renovated. Or move..."

He looked around the room he was in, sighing and speaking to himself as he noticed crack after crack in the ceiling and walls. Even the furniture was worn and torn. As an Orkhid-like figure emerged from one of the other rooms he turned to it, growling in frustration.

Leonard: "Well, do you know where she is yet?"

The creature was a female Orkhid, oldish. Her hair was grey and scraggly and her face haggard and weary. The beings eyes were a dark brown and she walked with a hunch, whilst clothed in a black, dirty gown. She was a Witch. Old yet experienced in making Potions of Darkness. Like her three "sisters" she had been "recruited" by either Amber or Leonard and taught well in the arts of pain and suffering.

Witch: "Mary said that she had asked about the whereabouts of another Pre-cog. Margaret, i think she said her name was."

Growling Leonard looked to one of the glassless windows that graced the small room and stepped towards it.

Leonard: "She's a waste. We already have an exellent Pre-cognitive and what does she go and do - goes and looks for more. As if that'll help me get a grasp on this realm...GrrrRAAARRR!!"

Frustration took ahold of his emotions for a brief moment and he sharply span around, hurling a ball of red fire at the otherside of the room. The ball soared quickly, leaving a trail of sparks and smoke before hitting the wall and exploding in a mass of fire and smoldering wood.

Leonard: "I am sick to death of having to go back to that wasteland of misfits and damnations. Where the world is governed by a hierarchy of creatures that have been born into their roles...i want THIS world. I want the luxuries this place has to offer...where i will only have to answer to one person - myself."

Allowing his head to hang he shook it from side to side gently, feeling the soft wind blow his fur ever-so-softly. Sighing he opened his mouth to carry on speaking, stopping when an eruption of black fire enveloped the middle of the room. As he watched the feminine figure of Amber materialise from the flame and smoke, he also noticed she was holding somebody. A single line of red electricity darted from the top of Ambers body to the bottom of her feet, instantly solidifying the being and her prisoner who was quickly thrown to the floor...unconcious.

Amber: "Stupid fu...Leonard!! W-What are you doing here?"

From the corner of her eye she caught the figure of her superior stood to her left, his arms crossed and his eyes burning red with fury.

Leonard: "Where have you been, Amber? I've had Clarice here trying to get a hold of your signal but it seems you have been blocking it somehow as you went along with your time wasting escapades. Care to explain?"

She coughed nervously and stepped towards the powerful Demon, worried about his tone of voice.

Amber: "I-I've been sorting a few things out. Loose ends, if you will. Nothing for you to wor..."

The white, three fingered right hand of the creature lashed out, grasping Ambers vocal cords and giving them a firm squeeze.

Leonard: "Nothing to worry about? You don't seem to realise how much i hate my own world, Amber. How...How desperate i am to escape it. And because of you, because of your USELESS little errands you seem to be making, i am being hindered in my project...i should devour your Soul right now and end your futureless existance."

His posh voice began to crack in places, revealing a sinister growl that hid behind the beings posh exterior. Throwing Amber back he then cast his glowing red eyes down to the female Amber had brought with her.

Leonard: "Well? Care to explain?"

Coughing and rubbing her throat, which now had the indentation marks of her superiors fingertips gracing her soft skin, Amber began to explain.

Amber: "She, she's a new Pre-cognitive. Mary made a mistake...Commandor Iraxx needs to live if our plan is to succeed. And if the silly bint can make such a dramatic error now, with such an important piece of information, she'll more than likely screw it up as our task nears to an end... "

Leonards brow raised slightly as his mind began to work overtime, he already had enough on his plate without this happening.

Leonard: "Are...are you sure?"

Amber nodded her head gently, empathizing with Leonard and the stress he was already under.

Leonard: "If this gets out Basium will make a mockery out of me. Not to mention that we'll have to track Adele down and dispose of her before she even makes an attempt on Iraxx's life."

He caressed his goatee, wrapping it around his index finger as he tried to ponder a way to keep all of this under wraps.

Amber: "If you want, i can make sure that Adele fails in her task. I've already got us a new Pre-cognitive and so it'll only be a matter of minutes before we know when she's going to make an attempt on his life."

Nodding softly he agreed, his facial expression distant as he tried to work out how this would effect the overall plan. After a couple of seconds had passed he realised that it could work out if everything went the way it was supposed to from now on. He nodded more enthusiasticly this time, even managing a faint smile. As he straightened himself up, adjusted his tie and brushed off his shoulders he spoke.

Leonard: "Yes, just make sure everything goes the way its supposed to. I don't think i'll be able to stand another year in that foul, Demonic world."

Amber nodded and turned to the, still unconcious, female on the floor. Turning his head to the left Leonard stared hard at the wall that was seperating him from Mary. This seperation was only physical however and he could still feel the pulsing of her Soul. Holding out his left arm he outstretched his fingers and hand, focusing hard on the pulsating rythm her Soul gave off. Three seconds later there was an agonised scream closely followed by a ghostly whooshing as the females white-ish, humanoid Soul [like the Souls in 'Legacy of Kain: Defiance'] came rippling through the wall and into Leonards hand. Almost immediatly the Soul dispersed into electricity and ran up his arm and into his chest, causing his eyes to glow a bright white as he absorbed it into his essence. He sighed, satisfied as he heard the heavy thump of Mary's corpse hit the floor.

Leonard: "No mistakes, Amber. Not one."

He said this in a menacingly firm tone, staring his inferior in the eyes so that she knew he was deadly serious. He then turned completly black and exploded into small blebs of shadow, these 'shadows' then darted in different directions, disappearing into the natural shadows scattered around the room...
