"yesterday was short" said Gath, "But we received our payment, and for a short day it sure was liberating from all our work" replied Gidin. The two squires were settling in two a nice hot lunch of potatoes, biscuits, jam, cakes, ale, and salted red meat on the bone. The two bit into their meals fiercely, it had been quite some time since they could afford a meal of this size and taste and they were both very contented to have it. Gidin had just settled in to his meats and was enamored by it's sweet and juicy taste and texture. Gidin always faced down when he ate, he always looked at his food and his hands, he never looked up, this was an advantage to Gath--Gath was usually a crude eater and it was almost perfect that his best friend naturally didn't look at him when eating. It was like this all the time, the two fit together like jigsaws, one's actions was always uplifted and accompinied by the others. Gidin was munching a potato when something small bonked him on the head, it was a small tomato, Gath had started it and Gidin knew he must finish it. "Foolish mortal, no tomato can stand up to a potato!" Gidin shouted with glee as he chucked the spud at Gath. Gath dodged it, "I may be mortal but i shall not give up" he replied as he tossed a meat ridden bone at the friendly-fire. Both friends had left their seat and were leaping around the table throwing an assortment of foods at each other. "you shall never take alive foul demon!" Gidin retorted.
Both Gidin and Gath were asleep, the food fight had leached their energy and deprived them of consiousness.
