"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" Vs "Out of sight, out of mind"

This is more aimed at long distance relationships.

Anyway both saying (Absence makes the heart grow fonder and Out of sight, out of mind) both describe the dilemma of a long distance relationship. Now which one do you think is the truer statement? Now it makes sense that if you were away from your love for an extended period of time that both of you would miss each other. But after how much time would the feelings stay there for? Because some would say that it's a kind of break up. And if you are apart for say a year or six months, would the feelings still be as strong as when two lovers could touch each others skin? See each other's faces? Were Physically Romantic with each other? After a year, would you just move on if the opportunity came along? So what do you guys think?

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" Or "Out of sight, out of mind"???
