With what Peter said ... I also noticed there is stuff like auto-promtion, etc ... so you can be moved to a higher group on post count, etc. They have that in Invisionboard [which I use for Advent Children forums]. I use it to make it appear that someone is on a level [like you have in RP games], so my groups are named 1, 2, 3, etc. But I don't really like the idea of giving extra features to only certain people. Although it might be good to use at a low level to avoid problems with new members that might abuse things such as PMs, etc. For example, when you first join you get really limited features, so it's like a probation period ... and then you get to use full features after you have met specific criteria [post count, join date if possible, etc].

That's a really good idea
I'd love to see that implemented. All the new registrations would default to the 'basic' usergroup, which leaves the already registered non posters. But that's easily fixed with a SQL query.
