Firstly, the image must be uploaded to a web server and not your own computer. Then you can place an image in your posts by using the following format:
[IMG]http://www.domainofyourserver.extension/path/to/image.extension[/IMG]
So an example would be:
[IMG]http://www.oddworlduniverse.com/misc/images/stuff.jpg[/IMG]
