Description: This session aims to provide solid methods for designing and planning a project's cinematic needs, while maximizing image quality and enhancing the game's interactive experience. Heavy emphasis is placed on conceptualization and pre-production stages. Video materials aid in demonstrating aspects of production that are being used for the cinematics currently in production at Oddworld. Various technical and artistic approaches are discussed for developing methods toward maintaining shot-by-shot image consistency and animation amortization. This session also touches upon matte painting integration and character voices.

Idea Takeaway: Attendees gain a solid perspective on how a strong, efficient pre-production process can be structured and visualized in order to manifest stronger end results, while minimizing production time and resources.

Intended Audience and Prerequisites: This presentation is aimed at art directors, producers, writers, production designers, animators, lighters, modelers and others interested in high-end CG cinematic production. The novice, as well as the seasoned professional, benefits from this session.
