...I would imagine since there's Sam there's fertile males (else she'd be incapable of producing fertile offspring to replace her when she dies). Just that Abe isn't one of them.
Like bees, if you feed a bee larva royal jelly it becomes fertile (or something), and if you don't it remains a drone, or something... I forget exactly how it works, I just no most drones aren't fertile because of it.
And wasn't there a cheat on AE/AO by which you could play as a female mudokon for a few screens, as a joke by the game designers? And she couldn't jump, or something...? Narf.
