Don't give the Bible so much credit yet, Chris. To my best recollection, it distinctly says in the Bible that Mary was, in fact, a virgin.
Oddly enough, not all of the scriptures of the Bible were in Latin. Some were in Greek, some where in old Arabic or Hebrew languages... which of course means that there were many more chances to have a "slip of the tongue." Don't make me bring up my timeless and infallible and timelessly infallible rant about the "Sea of Reeds" being wrongfully translated into "Red Sea."
(Well... it wasn't exactly an infallible argument...)
These are great reasons why I have a general distrust of Evangelists and the "true" word of God. Biased? Yes. Wrong? Possible. Sexy? Damn straight.
EDIT: Wait. Did I just contradict myself? Yes, I believe I did. And that just shows how much credibility I have.
