Geeble dropped the piece of Paramite leg he was holding.
Ronan: (gnawing on a finger) What's up?
Ronan then felt a sudden and utter depression overwhelm him. Saros and Geeble were hurt!
Geeble: They're in--
Ronan: --the forest! Let's get going!
And in our terrified states, we ignored that we could teleport and ran, flat out, to where Geeble and Saros should have been.
Geeble looked ragged, and Saros was unconscious. His new arms, looking oddly cool, were sprawled to the sides, and his legs were limp.
Ronan: Oh, my Odd! Blarg! What happened?
Blarg: (coughing) The orb ... attacked us. Saros ... managed to fight it off.
Ronan quickly called up some spooceshrub and lynni weed to mix a little "pick me up" for Saros. Geeble was helping Blarg to sit near the pond at the bottom of the waterfall.
Ronan fed the concoction to Saros; it was a little trying, but he managed it. Shortly, Saros sat up, and gazed blankly around at us.
Saros: I am a tool.
And he explained his tale. Ronan looked mildly surprised, despite his true horror; he could sort of predict the story as it was told. Geeble was rapt and attentive, soaking up each detail. Blarg tried to ignore it, as hearing it once was too much.
After the story, we all sat for a solid minute of silence. And when there is no talking, a minute can last for hours.
During this minute a disorienting image came to Ronan. He saw that Blarg had seen something that he wasn't supposed to tell the others ... but it was told by the imposter orb? Is it or is it not the truth?
Ronan only glanced suspiciously at Blarg before he spoke.
Ronan: Well ... uhh ... we have a long day tomorrow. I suggest we hit the hay. G'night, ya'll.
And we slept, taking turns with the watch.
