It's the dream where you are falling down a cliff, wake up suddenly, and actually feel like you've been falling and hit the ground, yet you're still on your bed.

I don't often dream of falling, but whenever I have a nightmare and I wake up, I get the falling/landing feeling just after I've woken up. I did used to have a very regular dream about flying down the stairs, though.
Oh God Grig, you've reminded me of one bad ass nightmare I had.

I can't remember exactly when I had it (PS: I assumed I'd had it when Miss Whitehead was still at school, but I'm pretty sure now I had it not all too long after the World Trade Centre collapsed), but I was walking down the path that runs alongside the Cathedral and leads to the Old Bishop's Palace at school, and I said hello to a Miss Whitehead, a physics teacher who has left now, then just as I was passing through the area where one of the caretakers parks his car, I hear a helicopter flying overhead, and it drops an atomic bombs. And the bomb drops. Boom. Wake up scared shitless.
I spent the rest of the night trying to dream about it again, but lucidly, so I could evacuate Norwich and get everyone to safety. Not so much a weird dream, but a nightmare I thought I'd share.
