Because when you return to zulag1 for the final Rescue's, there is no more lever between the grinders!!!

EDIT: ok! I made it
it was just a think of timing and control, to let the grinder go down and up between abe and the Mudokon
after 20 times it suddenly worked out.
had a perfect game after that, all 99 Mudokons are rescued
