Actually Grig, God had to have made the demons, cause God made everything. The rest of the stuff might be crap, but Jacob is right about that.

WOW! I found "Legion" in the Bible! It was in the verses I posted!

Basically there was a man possessed by demons. He walked around naked and lived in a cave. The demons made him do bad things so he chained himself up. But the demons made him break free and run off into the desert.

The man meets Jesus and says "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please don't punish me!" Jesus asked the man his name and demons responded "Legion" because there were so many demons in the man. They asked Jesus not to send them into eternal darkess.

Jesus sent the demons into a herd of swine and the swine suddenly ran off a cliff and drowned. The now unpossessed man went away and told others about what Jesus had done.

So "Legion" is not really a particular type of demon, but the name used by the group inhabiting the man in the story.
