Oh God, I hated the Magog Motors level, it was so unrealistic. I mean why is there some random walkway lined with bombs? You don't even need to ever go across it. The first part of the Boiler Room best represents the darkness of the original games, and I love Splinterz Manufacturing because of its more open design and greater gameplay possibilities.
One thing I did miss in MO that hasn't, I don't think, been said here before were the backgrounds. In the first games every single screen had a beautiful backdrops to it, from the endless twisted jungle of Necrum to the stacked-up crates of SoulStorm Brew in the FeeCo Depot, to the huge pipes and machinery in RuptureFarms, and so on - you've seen it all. In MO, there is none of that, only either a cliff or an endless sea of fog, neither of which do anything to prevent the game design from seeming nothing more than a set of levels.
