Well, obviously you're entitled to your own opinion, but I personally loved the bats. I've missed the difficulty of Abe's Oddysee, especially the relative challenge of getting past bats and bees. Still, there's a beehive in the Oddworld 4 chase scene, so perhaps they'll have a triumphant return, in my eyes at least.
