The fact is, the Oddworld as it first was before MO and SO, was the one that sold like hotcakes. When Lorne realises that this isn't what the fans want, he will start to try and immerse us all in more of that Oddworldish landscape we all loved so much.
The other fact is, I think by now most people just browse through their favourite screenshots, admiring the background, rather than playing the game (as fun as that can be). For one thing, I really wish I could go off and explore those places I saw in the distance during the original oddworld series...
