if your bringing other people's views and beliefs down.
|
I'm not. I'm just challenging them.
:
there is an invention called the calendar...
|
Erm...yes. I don't realise what that has to do with my question...but...yes. (My question being why you think its sad i haven't changed).
:
But it's not just christians who are judging people.
|
And i agree. I judge people. But i don't justify it with a book.
:
A vast majority of christians are not nasty.
|
There was a news report in the paper a while ago about a gay guy who was beaten and killed because of his sexuality, now, i can't remember what country it was in (i don't think that it was England), but as the funeral was proceeding you got a bunch of religious people, Christians and Catholics i do believe, shouting insults such as "He's going to Hell" and the like. Now, if that's not nasty and disrespectful, i don't know what is. It seems to me as if Christians (aswell as others) do a whole lot of sinning in the name of their God. And sure, it may not be the vast majority. But don't the vast majority believe that homosexuality is a sin? And they will go to Hell? And thus is they met a homosexual they would distance themselves from him or her? If they were an employer they wouldn't give the job to a homosexual, that in itself is nasty. Because you are stopping a person from earning a living...
:
Like I said Jacob, please give me evidence in the bible that justifys what your talking about. Give me a scripture, a verse, or something.
|
I don't read the Bible and thus wouldn't know where to start. Although over here in England there was a Cannon who was going to be ordained, he was homosexual, but he was the best man for the job and celebate. Suddenly there was a mass uproar about a homosexual Bishop, who, regardless of his ability to handle the job was persecuted against by the mass of the Christian church. Now, as the argument went on, the people against it were stating that he shouldn't become a Bishop because he was gay and no matter how good his credentials, it didn't change the fact homosexuality is a sin. In argument to this the other side stated that in certain parts of the Bible it stated that homosexuality wasn't a sin. Like i said, i don't read the Bible and so i can't really state whether the latter is true, but you should know...
:
then why get so defensive with Christians?
|
I didn't realise i did. Whilst typing i am quite calm about this...not all irratic and shtuffs...
:
I may not agree with it, but I don't go around, bad-mouthing gays because that's their choice to be gay.
|
Depends on what you mean by "bad-mouthing" them. Some may take offense to you stating its their choice to be gay, when everyone (aside from Christians and other such people it seems) knows that their sexuality is to do with the development in the womb...
:
Not everyone is going to be saved
|
And there you go again. Like i said, that can be seen as offensive. I personally am not that fussed, because the way i see it whatever we believe in happens to us when we die, and thus if we have a wide range of beliefs, we get to choose. But homosexual Christians may be deeply offended by that. And wasn't Jesus an "all forgiving" kinda guy? So doesn't he have to save everyone...
