Well, Acording to Alf, muds don't need loinclothes, they don't have reproductive organs,so it's just for style baby! As for the pouches, everybody needs places to put stuff. Where do you think Abe puts all those rocks, bones and grenades? Also I'm sure the pouch is for style as well! Kinda like when you see those girls with tight shirts that have tiny pockets in the front. Do they use them? No! All for the style.
