I don't really think Mudokons have the ability to bring back the dead yet. Of course I'm contradicted by Resurrection Totems in MO, but I'm pretty certain that's just a part of the gameplay and not an actually on Oddworld - besides, if you play properly, you won't lose any Mudokons.
My basis for this comes from an Interview with Lorne that describes the Mudokon religion. It says that their beliefs right now are confused, and that they will, over time, rediscover their ancestor's lost faith, but will find ultimately that it does not sustain them. In fact, it is through compassion, insight and knowledge of the self that will eventually allow the Mudokons to evolve and transcend death. Source:
