I thought of the double posting one way back, but had no idea if it could be done (this was before we even had vB, so I never thought any more of it).
As for the attachments as banners ... yes, please do that. I hate people who use forum attachments for banners. *glares at a certain moderator who was attaching to link onto another forum*. There's plenty of free hosts out there. In fact I found a very small "sig" host the other day, they give you 2MB space and 10 images for free. Which is great if all you want to do is have a banner host. If anyone is interested, go to
