First off, there is an official FFX-2 website ...
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/games/ps2/ffx2/. But it's in Japanese ... so unless you are like me, and don't mind clicking unknown links to find cool pictures, then you might give up after a while. Tip: the second and last sections have the downloadable artwork and wallpapers.
As for the male characters.
Nooj: the guy with the long hair
Baralai: the guy with the white hair and the headband
Gippel: the guy with the blonde hair and eye-patch
They are all members of the Alliance Ajito, which is a group of young people who oppose the teachings of Yevon. In FFX-2, there are a lot of groups forming after Yevon broke down ... the Alliance Ajito is one of them. Another is the New Yevon Party. I've also seen reference to a Young Persons Alliance, but that may be Alliance Ajito.
