Chapter5: Blitz's nightmare
Karma opened her eyes drearily and squinted through her hazed vision. Once her eyes adjusted to the light and saw where she was, she bolted to her feet in shock. She was in some big metal cage and had no clue where she was. She was on what looked like a conveyor belt and was being transported through a series of boxes. One of them shot out funky red lights, and she looked over to see a picture of her skeletal structure. Once she calmed down, she started to wonder where Blitz and Deputy were, and if the human took anyone else. Somewhere in all the chaos, she heard a little voice calling for her. "Karma! Karma! Where are you?! Karma!!!" Karma searched for the source of the voice. "Deputy?! Is that you?! Blitz! Deputy! Where are you?!!" Just as Karma started to try and sniff out where her friends were, she has lifted up in her cage and put on a small cart with other animals in cages just like her. This included dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and many more wild creatures. the man that put her on the cart put two more cages onto it and they drove off to where ever these monsters were taking them. Karma examined the lines of cages on the cart. Everyone seemed very upset or frantic. Then she heard Deputy calling out to her. "Karma!! Karma! Over here!" Deputy bounced around in his cage to indicate where he was. "Deputy! I'm so glad to see you! Where in the world are we?!!" "An airport....." Blitz cut in with a disgusted snarl. He layed on the bottom of his cage with a look of pure hatred upon his face. "It's an airport. They take animals out of the wild and put them in cages. Then they put them on those things," He motioned to a large moving metal structure that resembled a bird. "and they ship you off to whatever horrible place they want to. But no matter where they send you, weither it's a sausage factory or paradise, you'll never see your family again. You'll never go back home, and you're life will never be the same....." Blitz layed back down and growled deeply. His muddy yellow eyes burned with the fires of hatred. A few minutes later the cart came to a stop and they were unloaded into the back of one of the metal bird things. As the man picked up their cages and put them into the cargo hold, Blitz glared at him with such lazer intensity it seemed like her was going to burn a hole in his forehead. Karma wondered why Blitz hated humans so much. She was really ticked off at them at the moment but there was just something about Blitz glare that told her that this was much more than just taking us somewhere else. After the guy finished pakcing everything into the cargo hold, he slamed the door shut. Suddenly there was a loud roaring noise and Karma felt strange. It felt like she was being lifted into the air, but she was still on the ground. She felt shaky and layed down for a bit. Blitz just layed there with his unmoving glaze, while poor Deputy had just hacked up his lunch. About a half an hour later, a lady came with three bowls of some hard crunchy brown stuff, and placed inside their cages. She gave different variations of the food to the other animals, and cleaned up Deputy's mess. Karma sniffed the brown food and licked it a bit. It wasn't exactly caribou, but it was okay for airline food. She took a bite out of it and hungrily devoured the rest. Deputy took one look at the food and inhaled it ravenously. He must have been starving after loosing his lunch on the floor like that. Blitz didn't even look at the food. He just layed there like that for the past few hours until there was a loud screeching noise and the metal thingy stopped. The funny flying feeling stopped and Deputy's stomach calmed down. The man opened the back of the cargo hold and a blinding light filled the area. Blitz gave the man his now trademark glare and growled the most evil, hatred filled growl Karma had ever heard. Deputy just rolled over on his back wearily and slept, probably from exhaustion. Karma looked up in fear at the man that was handling her. She looked deep into his eyes and searched through them. Between the bordness and weariness, she actually saw a hint of sorrow and sympathy for her and her friends. Maybe he was just tired. She'd never now, because the next minute her, Deputy, and Blitz were set out of their cages and into a strange factory looking place. This was where they were destined to stay for a very long time. The Northern California Puppy Mill.
