Part 3
*Setting: The Research and Army personel argued amongst themselves. They were in a meeting to discuss the final development of the B-Orkhids. The room they were situated in was long and contained a table capable of seating 10 members. The main Research personel was there, including Janek, Sykes, Fosters, Maine and Silak. Other personel included army officials, such as the General of the base, General Flor and Lieutenant Michail. But, strangely, they were joined by Cornesh. The overweight Orkhid whom had formed a close bond with the defect Aisha and befriended the rest of the children. The argument was about whether the children should be allowed to train up in the Army base which was situated above the underground Labs. Flor, Michail and Cornesh all wanted the children to be allowed to the surface, whilst Janek and the other personel directly involved in the project, argued it would be too dangerous and that they could escape if they wanted. Silak, whom was the first Consultant, was listening to both arguments and then in the end going to form a decision. Whether it be fair or not...*
Janek: "Dont be so ridiculous!! Of course our Labs are safe and secure, more so than your silly, little, gun-totting base!!"
Janek slammed a black gloved fist onto the polished wooden table in annoyance.
Flor: "Yes, im sure. Because its so heavily guarded and all(!)"
Flor was dressed in a black, latex-like suit, which matched his black hair appropiatly, and had a scar across his left cheek. His greyish face had craters covering it, which was an indication that he suffered severe acne at an early age. He crossed his legs and rested back on the brown, leather seat. Michail stood behind him obeidiantly. He was dressed in a black and red uniform, the main fabric black and the seams red.
Janek: "So wvhat if wve dont have as many guards as this facility. You need a security clearance to take a f*cking piss, let alone get to the surface...thats how secure it is, they wvont escape from the Labs and you know it..."
His gray eyes darted to Cornesh and the General. Settling on Cornesh and giving him a stare so intense it could shatter mirrors.
Cornesh: "But the children need fresh air, need scenery. They're kids, they need to develop in a proper envi..."
Sykes: "They are subjects to be poked...prodded...cut open and studied. They are NOT children. They are designed to kill. Like an Ant Colony has its workers, builders and Soldiers...so do we!! THEY are going to be the new Soldiers!! Possibly even Assassins..."
He barked these words out as he interrupted Cornesh. Fosters and Maine had remained quiet so far and were seated patiently in their seats opposite the General and Cornesh. Janek slowly walked around to the water dispenser and picked up a plastic white cup, filled it with water and then sipped it. Resting his back on the wall.
Flor: "And you expect the children to learn how to be Assassins, to be Soldiers, to fight when they're surrounded by thinkers...!?"
He cameback with a good point and smirked softly as he did so.
Sykes: "They have shown remarkable combat skills already, surpassing anything this, or any other, military has to offer in terms of combat...hand to hand and melee weapon based."
Flor: "You lie. How could thinkers possibly train children up to be fighters when they dont take part in such training themselves..."
Taking another sip of his water, Janek stared at Michail before answering the question.
Janek: "Your forgetting, these children are not normal Orkhids. They were created to fight, they have chips in their head that make them learn 5 times as fast as Orkhids themselves..."
With the Researchers winning the argument, Silak raised his hand, hushing the debaters. He was dressed in a grey suit and had his light-brown hair combed to one side. His hazel eyes looked at both sides of the table.
Silak: "Dr Fosters, Dr Maine...you have remained quiet, do you have anything more to add?"
Nudging his partner, Doctor Fosters encouraged Maine to proposition the General with a deal he and Maine had just quietly discussed.
Maine: "Yes. It seems as if alot of hostility is flying across the table at us because we will not allow the General to see the children at this stage in the experiment. However, me and my good friend, and collegue, here have been discussing possibilities and decided that, when the children reach the final stage, they should be moved upto the base for short amounts of time and trained by Soldiers...Of course, by this time all of the children chosen will be of high standard and, if all goes to plan, flawless..."
Sykes coughed, shocked by what his collegues, whom were working for him, had just suggested.
Sykes: "WHAT!? HOW...HOW...I FOUNDED THIS REA..."
Silak: "QUIET. General, do you accept?"
Leaning into the Generals ear, Cornesh whispered something that made the Orkhid male chuckle. Leaning forward and then looking at Janek he nodded.
Flor: "Yes, i accept. On the condition that Cornesh goes to the Labs and makes sure there is no foul play afoot. For instance stating that the children have been "killed" when they're merely being hidden..."
This proposition obviously disturbed Janek whom had banned Cornesh from ever going near the Labs again for obvious reasons. Cornesh usually wouldn't have took any notice but when Janek threatened the life of Aisha and other children, he realised he could not take any chances.
Janek: "Dont be ridiculous. That bulbous fool wvill almost certainly interfere...that is wvhy i forbid him from going down in the first place...he treat them like real children..."
Cornesh: "They are. Until they reach the final stage they are normal children..."
He looked deep into Janeks cold eyes as he said this. Subconciously challenging his authority.
Silak: "Are you sure there is nobody else you would like to give that job to...?"
Shaking his head the General responded. He knew that this would put him in good stead for training the children and would also piss Janek off immensly. And with the decisions made and Cornesh allowed back in the Labs once more, the meeting was over and all personel allowed to get back to what they were previously doing...
